character design for flash

Here are some character designs for a flash story Im working on along with Kristen Woods and Julio Vega. The story written by Kristen and Julio  is about an old lady who becomes a  victim to a thief who steals her purse. She suddenly transforms into a karate fighting black belt and kicks butt. Since its flash we're working on, the character design is made simpler but still appealing.

Developing characters that are meant to be part of a group that lives in the forest. Some of these designs were originally done in watercolor then developed further in photoshop. I usually start off my designs on paper then transfer to digital more for visual development and to place them in an environment. Some of these are still pretty rough but it gives me an idea of where I want to go in the design.

Ive been working on some backgrounds for a new story Im developing. Here are some examples of some backgrounds that Ive been working on.

The one with the lady in the forrest was actually an acrylic painting that I scanned in and touched up in photoshop. The blue pencil sketch was done with blue col erase pencil, and the evil castle was done in photoshop.
